PhlebotomyU, a leading phlebotomy training center in San Diego, offers end-to-end Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT-1) training and other blood-drawing and healthcare trade school classes. Cinco Plumb, founder and CEO, purchased the company in 2017 and approached SunCity Advising to help with re-branding, redesigning the website, SEO, PPC and other digital marketing solutions. The main website focuses on the phlebotomy training program, educating students on the mandatory internship process, and obtaining employment after the class.

The Solution

The team at SunCity Advising worked closely with PhlebotomyU to come up with a rebranding strategy as well as a brand aesthetic that matches the company’s persona. Once the website organization was laid out, logos and media collateral were all complete, the team at SunCity Advising was able to utilize their proprietary automated semantic markup tool to tell Google exactly what PhlebotomyU’s new website was about.

The Result

Using SEO best-practices, SunCity Advising was able to help PhlebotomyU increase overall year-over-year organic traffic by 326% within the first 12 months. The result was an increase in average monthly leads by 63% and a 24% student enrollment rate. Using authoritative blog topics and video content, PhlebotomyU is now a top ranking local SEO result for all phlebotomy-related keywords as well as nationally ranked for educational topics like order of draw, phlebotomist interview questions and phlebotomist job salaries.

12-Month SEO Ranking Improvements

During the early SEO strategy meetings, PhlebotomyU worked with the SunCity Advising team to identify 252 relevant keywords based on industry terminology and the rankings of 14 closely monitored competitors. On July 1, 2018, PhlebotomyU.com did not rank for any of these relevant keywords. 12 months later, on July 1st, 2019, PhlebotomyU.com ranks for 46 of them in the top 3 positions on the search engine results page and 88 in the top 10. This means that PhlebotomyU can be found for 134 relevant search terms on the first page of a Google search.
